Walls make a House
A person visited his friends in an up-coming town. When they were out on a sightseeing tour, the visitor was struck by a magnificent bungalow, which was an architectural masterpiece. He wondered what the interior was like and mentioned this to his friend.
“We can go in if you want,” said his friend. “I know the folks who live in there well enough. I must warn you, though. This is a beautiful house, no doubt, but it is a broken home.”
The visitor soon learned that all the wealth and luxury in the world could not keep the family together. The parents had separated. The children were facing serious moral social problems of their own.
He remarked to his friend sadly,
“Now I understand the saying, “Walls make a house, hearts make a home.”,
Every house where love abides
And friendship is a guest,
Is surely home, and home, sweet home;
For there the heart can rest.
