Transformation
Now there is only God and nothing else
Once a Zen monk was asked, “What were you used to doing before you became enlightened? The monk said, “I used to chop wood and carry water from the well.” And then the questioner asked, “What do you do now, after you have become enlightened?” The monk politely said, “I chop wood and carry water from the well.”The questioner was puzzled. He said, “Then, there seems to be no difference.”The master said, “The difference is in me and not in my actions. Because I have changed, all my actions have changed and their significance too has changed. Now there is only God and nothing else.”
Every human being sometime or the other goes through transformation in life. It is nothing but a change in the understanding, which springs up from the inner being. Transformation may not make saints overnight instead it enhances the understanding of the divine in the human being. Life consists of small things, and we have to transform each small thing through our awareness, attentiveness and alertness, into a beautiful act. Then ordinary things can become extraordinary and extraordinary things become ordinary in life. We have to expose ourselves to this transformation.
