The Waterloo Chamber in Windsor Castle celebrates the defeat of the French in the Battle of Waterloo. The room is lined with portraits of monarchs, commanders and statesmen who defeated Napoleon. One of the busiest rooms at Windsor Castle open to the public, the room is also used for Investitures. And while you’re taking the tour, don’t forget to see the carpet, which was specifically woven for this room by the inmates of Agra prison for Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee.

A semi-state room used regularly by the Queen for private events, the Crimson Drawing Room boasts of spectacular views across the Berkshire countryside.
