7 Bollywood celebrities who are more successful as entrepreneurs

Bollywood is like a game of poker. Not everybody can be a winner. But just because you’re bad at Poker, doesn’t mean that you’re bad at everything. And the life of these Bollywood celebrities is proof of that. They might not be delivering hit upon hit at the box office, but they are still killing the game. Some of them have launched their own companies and the others are finding innovative new ways to pump up their banks. Here are 7 such Bollywood celebrities who are way more successful as entrepreneurs.

1. Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek Bachchan was last seen on the big screen in 2018 in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyan. The actor’s previous projects haven’t been able to establish themselves at the box office over and over again. However, AB is a much better businessman than he is an actor. Currently, he is the owner of two successful sports teams. One is the Pro Kabaddi team, Jaipur Pink Panthers and the other is football team, Chennaiyin FC that has won the Indian Super League twice. He also endorses products for companies like LG Home Appliances, American Express credit card, Videocon DTH, Motorola mobiles, Ford cars, Idea Mobiles, Omega watches and TTK Prestige, among others. He has also made some very fruitful investments, that added more zeros to his net worth of $30 million. And besides being a producer, Abhishek is scheduled to headline the second season of Amazon Prime Video original, Breathe. He is also currently filming for a film called Bob Biswas, which is based on the stone-cold serial killer from Vidya Balan’s Kahaani.

2. Suniel Shetty

In today’s time, Suniel Shetty is known for his age-defying looks and physique. He is often seen making special appearances in Bollywood films. But he does hold pivotal roles in films coming from regional cinema. He was last seen in a Tamil film called Darbar, alongside Rajinikanth and will also been seen next in a Malayalam movie called Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, that is headlined by superstar Mohanlal. Besides movies, Suniel Shetty owns a production company called Popcorn Motion Pictures. He also runs an online platform called FTC along with Mukesh Chhabra that helps discover new talent in Bollywood. He has also invested in a fitness start-up called Fittr. Suniel is also a recognisable name in the restaurant industry as he previously owned a restaurant called Mischief Dining Bar and still owns the H20 Liquid Lounge. Besides that, Suniel Shetty is the co-founder of the Ferit Cricket bash and is the captain of the Mumbai Heroes cricket team in the Celebrity cricket league.

3. Twinkle Khanna

In an episode of Koffee With Karan, Twinkle Khanna had revealed that she thought of herself to be a bad actress. And ever since she found the courage to never be on the big screen again, she has been killing the game. Twinkle Khanna is a gifted and hilarious writer. Her column regularly appears in the Times of India. Besides that, she has also authored three books i.e. Mrs Funnybones, Pyjamas Are Forgiving and The Legend of Laxmi Prasad. She recently also founded a digital media company called Tweak India. Besides that, in 2016, she launched her production house called Mrs Funnybones, which bankrolled the National-award winning film Padman. She also runs two interior design stores in Mumbai along with her friend Gurlein Manchanda.

4. Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal is the hunk of Bollywood. He was last seen portraying gangster Arun Gawli in Daddy back in 2017. But besides that, Arjun was the owner of a glamorous Delhi night club called LAP. Back in its hey day, the club hosted top DJs and musicians like Lady Gaga as well as Formula 1 after-parties which were attended by Bernie Ecllecston himself. The club was shut down in 2016. He also reportedly runs an event management company called Chasing Ganesha.

5. Dino Morea

Even though he is 44-year-old, Dino Morea has the swag that makes people starry-eyed around him. He hasn’t been seen on the big screen for a very long time now, but even then, he is doing very well for himself. He is credited with bringing the Crepe Station franchise to Mumbai and other parts of India. This European dessert chain has several outlets in Mumbai serving up crepes made to order. Besides that, he is reported to be currently filming for an upcoming web series called Mentalhood, also featuring Karisma Kapoor in the lead, which will be released on Zee5 and ALT Balaji.

6. Malaika Arora

Malaika Arora may not be shooting for any film but that doesn’t stop her making the headlines constantly. She is among the fittest celebrities in Bollywood and her workout videos regularly go viral on social media. Malaika Arora makes a lot of her money from judging reality TV shows like India’s Got Talent. Besides that, she has also collaborated with Sussanne Khan and Bipasha Basu on an e-commerce website called The Label Life. She curates the clothing section of the website.

7. Preity Zinta

You may have seen more of Preity Zinta on a cricket field than on the big screen. Not only does she co-own IPL’s King XI Punjab, she also bought the Stellenbosch Kings franchise of South Africa’s T20 Global League in 2017. She has also written columns for BBC in 2004 and is quite the humanitarian. In fact, back in 2009 she took the financial responsibility of taking care of 34 girls from an orphanage in Rishikesh for her 34th birthday. She is also the founder and owner of a production company called PZNZ Media.
