31 Creative Packaging Designs to Inspire You
This collection of creative packaging designs features amazing products from around the world. The designers have all developed a unique vision for their product to stand out from the competition and get noticed. Get ready for cute, crazy, funny, cool and everything in between!
Breast Cancer Awareness Bread
Kohberg is the largest bread manufacturer in Denmark and also happens to sponsor the Danish Cancer Society’s annual awareness campaign. The slogan for the campaign was ‘support the breasts’ and the brief was to come up with a creative packaging design that grabs people’s attention. Yep, we think they nailed it!
Pantone Vodka Bottles
Absolut Vodka is famous for its fruit flavors which makes it a perfect match for this vodka bottle / Pantone mashup. Unfortunately the copper bottle is just a hypothetical concept, which is probably for the best. Blood flavored vodka probably wouldn’t be delicious.
T-Shirt Tape Measure Packaging
This incredibly clever and creative packaging design for 10pt t-shirts consists of a 100% recycled paper tube that unravels in a spiral to form a measuring tape. The ends of the tube even turn into a case for the measuring tape meaning almost everything in the package can be reused. The t-shirt is rolled up and stuffed in the tube which takes up less space and uses less material.
Nike Air Vapormax
This Nike Air Vapormax shoe box was designed to celebrate the global product launch and was given to all the Nike athletes and brand ambassadors. The box has 23 sides and opens like origami. The holographic finish is also super cool and looks like it comes either from the future or from 1985. We can’t decide which.
Cow Udder Milk Bottles
These amazing milk bottle designs feature little udders that form four stable legs for the bottle. They look very cute, but are they also just a tiny little bit creepy? The very subtle bulge above the udders is also a nice touch.
Emoji Coffee Cups
Baristo is a Brazilian coffee company that’s sold in a lot of universities. These cute emoji coffee cups look like a (very successful) attempt to appeal to a younger, internet savvy generation. There are 6 expressions to choose from and we really hope you get to choose which one you want.
Fire Extinguisher Tea Packaging
The package design of this Chinese tea brand resembles an instantly recognizable fire extinguisher. Chinese people often drink herbal tea when they feel ill after eating too much hot food and the fire extinguisher symbolizes putting out the chili fire.
Munch’n Berry Packaging
This cute and creative packaging for Munch’n berries features the super cute Munch’n man. He’s simple, visually engaging and looks like he’s really, really enjoying munching on those berries. Munch’n man went viral in New Zealand and ended up featuring in his own website as well as on social media.
Buzz Stopper Mosquito Repellent
This delightful packaging for Buzz Stopper mosquito spray has been designed to be fun and positive and appeal to a younger audience. Sure, why not. Young people get bitten by mosquitoes too, right? The adorable little mascots are rhinos who represent tough skin that repels bites.
Neleman Wine Packaging
This creative and unique wine packaging elevates what’s normally a pretty ordinary gift and takes it to the next level! The beautifully designed gift box has a window so you can see the wine inside and a luxurious ribbon integrated into the design.
Chucheng Orange Box
Who said a box of oranges has to be boring? When these boxes are stacked together the see through sections form the shape of a cut orange. The company founder is also said to be a legendary character and pulling the box apart causes the oranges to rise up out of the box symbolizing the ups and downs of his life (including a stint in prison).
Monster Milkshakes
This creative packaging for the Monster Milkshakes brand was clearly designed to be fun and appealing to kids. We love the way the eye logo has been integrated into the cap. Each of the five flavors gets a unique character design.
Pinball Lotion Packaging
This has to one of the most creative packaging ideas in the collection. We’re not exactly sure how you come up with the idea of combining pinball and moisturizing lotion, but the fact that this product exists is awesome.
Gourmet Space Food
NASA space food packaging looks cool and futuristic but you’d never describe it as appealing. However, this minimalist NASA style take on kitchen sauce packaging really works well and highlights the simple, fresh appearance of the food.
Science Fiction Beer Bottles
Everyone on our team loves science fiction and beer so combining the two is a match made in heaven. It’s worth clicking the link and checking out the original illustrations that adorn each beautifully designed bottle.
Creative Marijuana Packaging
Recreational marijuana is hot right now and this lovely package design from weed company 1964 is only going to help push it more mainstream. Everything about their product portfolio is stylish and beautifully executed. You can read more about their talented artist network on the 1964 website.
Coconut Water
Selling an actual coconut in its shell counts as creative packaging right? The genuine coconut company does just that. They’ve even developed a patented easy opening system so you don’t need a machete on stand by to get to the delicious organic coconut water inside.
Liquor Bottle Cold Brew Coffee
The Grounds set out to give their cold brew coffee bottles a nostalgic feel that evokes craft and quality and we think they’ve done an amazing job. They also closely resemble liquor bottles so don’t get a bad rep at work when you’re enjoying your morning brew.
Twistd Chips
The Twistd snack tin has a wonderfully inventive design that breaks into four individual portions to better control your snacking (good luck with that). Even more awesome is the special lid that you twist to dispense four different salty flavors. Pure genius.
Popcorn Shed
The packaging for Popcorn Shed does a great job of differentiating them from the competition. The lock in the logo is even a cheeky nod to the fact that the competition can’t ‘unlock’ their unique design. Each shed design is matched to one of their three flavors – Pecan Pie was inspired by an American barn, Salted Caramel by the Brighton seafront and Chocolate by a log cabin.
Lord Jones Cannabis Chocolate Boxes
The beautiful logo, stylish retro color palettes and use of foils and embossing gives the Lord Jones range of cannabis chocolates an incredibly high-end luxurious feel.
Corphes Organic Herbs
The inventive triangular package design of Corphes products is designed to symbolize that their herbs are grown at high altitude in the mountains of Greece. It works beautifully, especially when combined with the atmospheric haze effect and the clever cutaway on each lid letting some color show through. They’re also easy to stack and make a cool display at the POS.
D’one Donut Packaging
Donuts might be the ultimate fast food, but they can be pretty messy to eat and normally come in a big box of six or more. Jiaru Lin has neatly solved this problem with the D’One. It’s a donut box for one that unfolds into cool flower petal shaped plate and even includes a fork to help you keep your donut eating dignity.
Peckish Bird Seed
This super cute bird seed packaging is just a concept but would ‘fly’ off the shelves if it was ever put into production. The seed dispensing opening is designed to mimic a birds beak and the simple design conveys heaps of personality.
Space Themed Cereal Boxes
These creative cereal box designs are all designed with a cool space theme. The color palette for each design has been carefully chosen to complement the cereal inside which entices you via a see through window. When they’re stacked together they also create a beautiful star pattern.
Soxy Socks
Juliette Kim has done a wonderful job with the creative packaging on her Soxy concept. The heart shape opening on the top of each box makes the colors really pop and the package opens like a mini drawer. The layout of the characters in the logo also really draws the eye and creates visual interest.
Scratch-n-sniff Wine Bottle
According the Winc website, the fun starts before you open this bottle of Rose when you scratch-n-sniff the label and smell fragrant watermelon. It’s a very cool concept but we’re pretty sure the fun actually starts when the bottle has been well and truly opened.
Tea Spa Bird Teabags
These Sikkimis teabags are all shaped like birds and appear to be enjoying a spa in your tea cup while you wait for your tea to soak. It’s a clever and inventive way to spice up an otherwise boring looking teabag.
Pet Crock Dog Biscuits
These packaging concepts for Pet Crock dog biscuits are completely adorable, especially the ears! As part of the design process, Jessica Santos also created other assets including a POS display, signage and even a newspaper advertisement.
Horoscope Chocolate
These horoscope chocolate bars look amazing, but unfortunately they’re just a concept. Each sign of the zodiac has its own unique color and flavor.
Pop Art Popcorn
The packaging for these tasty looking potato chip snacks from Costa Rica have a Pop Art style and would really stand out in the snack isle. Each flavor has a unique palette, custom lettering and features a different geometric pattern.
